In my head, whenever I see "guardarropa", I think, "place that guards clothing" :-P, which I suppose is exactly what a wardrobe does....Now I'm picturing an anthropomorphized door with swords saying "en garde!" to all who approach....this is how my brain processes language. Then we could get into the whole idea of the word "ward" as a noun (think Lady Marian as King Richard's ward), as someone to be "guarded" - and on down the rabbit hole! Wheee!
