Star Wars III

For those of you in the NY area - any plans for seeing Episode III? Despite my feelings on the matter, I still think the best time to see any Star Wars film is opening night. Since we should probably get tickets soon, who wants to go?

I could be persuaded... I should know better, but against my better judgement I'm working up some enthusiasm over this one. As of Saturday, the AMC in Times Square still had tickets available for the night of Thursday, 5/19, but the Digital Projection theaters are sold out. Boo!

Of course, by my calculations, that night should be a designated writing group night. What do we do about that?

We sit in Star Wars and analyze the writing: "You know, George, I really feel that the characters here need to be the heart of the story and you're sort of losing focus with all the set pieces. Maybe if you restructured a bit to spend more time on the relationships of the characters it would be more compelling. And you need to work on your dialogue."

Could be fun. Until the other fans kill us.

I was giving serious thought to going to the mall on Thursday (though I could be tempted to go into NYC, too, if suitably early in the evening). Midnight ain't happening for me.

I'd rather see it in NY on Thursday evening. Somehow, seeing it in the mall would just seem - sad. I mean, those theatres really suck. Want to try for Thurs evening at the Union Square AMC? I haven't checked ticket availability... Ack! This is too complicated. I suck at planning. Someone take this cup from me.

You've got most of it: Thursday evening, preferably on the early side, in a theater in NYC, preferably the Union Square AMC. Just let me know if I have to buy a ticket online and to which theater/show, and I'm in.
