I think what I liked about the movie Stargate was that it wasn't just the sci-fi action flick I expected when I saw it, there was some nice touching characterization there for people who otherwise may've had no interest in the genre. I love Jack and Daniel when they talk about "Why do you want to die so much?" becuase Jack never says "After my son died I have nothing to live for." A lot of movies these days would've done that, but that movie relied on the fact that it was more important YOU knew that than it was to have Jack flat-out say it, especially when you consider that he doesn't really know or necessarily like Daniel. That always kills me when two characters in a movie talk about some life-altering event that made them who they are, etc., and I'm thinking "Dude, you've known this guy for what, a day and a half? Why are you telling him something that personal?"

And I could totally take Ra. That headpiece ofhis allows for no peripheral vision and probably clogs up his hearing. So THERE!
