I've lived through a blackout and a transit strike. Am I a New Yorker yet?

I ate a B.M.T. for lunch today in a twisted sense of irony.

And you wouldn't believe how quiet 23rd street is with no city buses.

Not a New Yorker yet... you missed 9/11. And you haven't lived through the strike yet! Plus there's the nagging fact that you don't live in NY.

I was just saying I think I've experienced enough historic moments in the city by now. How about a nice stretch of twenty to thirty years of things running smoothly, or at least wait until I relocate before the next crisis happens?
